Has anyone actually tested this theory yet? Because I'm having a hard believing it's that easy to get that bottle to work. I believe it was invented by a purely evil genius in their attempt to take over the world. No way he made a loop hole ๐Ÿ˜•.... Unless he was actually that big of an evil genius ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

FYI this works! My dad told me about it as a kid, but he also told me I had to shout 57! when I did it. Lots of weird looks at restaurants.

Best way is to windmill the (closed!) bottle with the neck facing away from your shoulder for dat centripetal force.

You could also just store it upside down and open carefully. But yeah, I've known the trick they're talking about for years.

I'm more amazed people still use glass bottles. Haven't even seen one in years.

Heinz is about to have a rise in sales from those of us willing to test this theory. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

Ammi Anne apparently you tap the "57" on the glass bottle of ketchup. Where was this info yesterday? Lol

Captain here.. This is because ketchup is filled up with dense strand of long chain polymer. As it stays for long time, it tangled the polymer chain and make it hard to flow. Thus it it stuck unlike water is much easier to flow. To untangle the chain, one does need to apply a stress upon it and it may flow easy. This is called as non newtonian fluid. And once stress applied it act like Newtonian fluid like water. *flies away*

Way to be late to the party.. this has been known for 10-20 years.. or stick a butter knife in to break the air suction

Tap the "57" on the bottle neck while it is upside down, and it will gently slide out. You're welcome.

But.. This isn't new?!? This has always been a thing. Since I was a baby I've been doing this... Who didn't know this

Is this information for people born in the 2000's who've never held a glass ketchup bottle before? Because everyone has know this for decades..

Super old news and it doesn't work all the time. Shake it down with the cap still on, then carefully remove the cap and boom, you have ketchup

I've known this for years thanks to my late husband/engineer. You need to have airspace in order for ketchup to flow.โ˜บ

Ive never had this issue. I simply pour it on an angle and it comes out. Never had to "tap the sweet spot" or turn it upside down.

I usually just take a knife and poke the ketchup inside while the ketchup is upside down and it comes flying out
