Ahhh, nothing like a fresh (aged) one right off the plant. And sounds like a hearty one at that! Did you happen to notice if it had some of those nice stretch marks on it? I know the weather has been unseasonably warm here in S. Texas and was kinda curious how quickly it ripened. Would be great if you could get some more peppers out of it or utilize some of the seeds/living splices as it seems to be quite hardy. Was it a volunteer or planted from store bought jalas or any special seeds?
