Surely a doctor would’ve known this by palpating her abdomen?! My doctor could feel mine- much smaller - and showed up on ultrasound and MRI scans.

I just had one removed. They reckon it was there for 10 years. It was 30cm long and 20 wide. Had no real symptoms. My doctor would check my stomach and never felt it so there you go.

“At it’s largest it was 7 inches long and grew to the size of watermelon” What watermelon is only 7 inches long?? Even a diameter of 7 inches is small for a watermelon. Do they mean cantaloupe?? Lol

This happened to my dear friend & she also suffered 3 yrs until they found a mass as big as a basketball. Needless to say it was ovarian cancer! That was 6 yrs ago & she is cancer free now. Can’t believe several dr’s didn’t find it sooner

Why would someone not authorize some sort of scan of this? "Oh you're fine, you're fiiiiiine. Just a little IBS. You look perfectly fine... "

And this is exactly why I do not want a government ran healthcare system.

This is why women need to speak up at the doctor’s office, advocate for their health, and research health and symptoms, etc. we are our best advocates and the only way we get adequate healthcare is if we fight for it!

I had a hysterectomy 14 years ago. My stomach was the size of a 7 month pregnancy. They took out 15 lbs of fibroids, cysts and tumors.

Wow! This happened to me. During my pregnancy I looked 9 months pregnant at 2 months and kept growing more and more with worst pain imaginable. I had 2 fibroids measuring 17cm each and a 3rd 8cm. I was very sick but my son survived the pregnancy and I looked like I had triplets. The scariest and most painful experience of my life.

Margaret had to bear years of pain to find out that what she had was nothing else but fibroids. While me (living in a third world country) was diagnosed with them the very first time I saw my doctor. How? Simply... by touch!
