I never knew fried ice cream was actually fried. I only ever had it at Mexican restaurants and all they did was coat it in corn flakes lol

You can also wrap the frozen balls of ice cream in tortilla shell, sinch it closed with a tooth pick, fry in canola and then toss in cinnamon and sugar. Pull the tooth pick before serving.

I donโ€™t understand why hot oil combined with cold ice cream is appealing.

instead, make it ala baked alaska with a topping of merengue (and do a quick broil in the oven). Comes out more decadent and just as yummy. Better yet - soften the ice cream, mixed in bits of strawberries and pistachios. Then scoop and cool it down. - prepare as per the instructions.

Everyone thinks I'm weird because I don't care for fried ice cream. Am I the only person on the planet who doesn't like it? Lol

Am I the only one bothered by how much fried batter was left on the ladle thing and the fact that the oil wouldn't have drained off??

Ok so what kinda moron puts the frying sieve/spoon in the batter?? Once the oil hits it, it ceases to serve the purpose it was made for....duh!!

Everyone commenting that they like their ice cream cold and frozen lol... when done right, which this vid wasn't great, it IS still cold and frozen, doesn't absorb oil, and you're left with a delicious crunchy outside, and a center of nice cold still firm ice cream. So many people on here who haven't tried it calling it gross and saying they're not willing to try anything new... how boring your lives must be.

I made it once with Pablo and crushed almonds. I fried it. The first time I forgot to have my spider nearby. And letโ€™s just say hot oil and cold ice cream are not the best combinations. But tried again and it was really delicious. Drizzled some caramel and cinnamon. #divine
