Serious question here. Why do vegans and vegetarians want things that taste like meat? Isn't removing things that are like meat the whole reason people go that way?

If vegans never ate meat, with the exception of meat eaters turning vegan, how would they crave this or any other meat tasting/resembling dish? I'm honestly trying to gain an understanding and not put down vegans. I have a few vegan friends but they actually dont even eat anything resembling a meat dish.

If you don´t want to eat meat that´s fine, just don´t use the name of a delicious dish like ribs in your vegan experiments. We don´t eat meat salads or soy beefs... so no, soy burgers are not burgers and this is not a rib. Thanks

REASONS PEOPLE WOULD WANT TO EAT THIS: 1. Some of us can't eat meat and/or dairy due to illnesses but still wish we could. 2. Some people like the taste of meat and dairy but choose not to eat it for ethical reasons. 3. Some people want to try something different. Did you know you're allowed to eat meat but also enjoy vegan food? I know, I know. This is shocking information. 4. Some people have spouses who are vegan and would still like to eat out with them. (Next time you're in a standard restaurant look for the vegan options. You'll be lucky if there's one. Removing meat/dairy from an item doesn't count.)

I cannot believe how angry people are getting over a vegan bbq, calm down! I'm only mad about how messy it is. Not yelling, not cussing, just my opinion.

Lol vegans are hypocrites, well the ones that still eat fish that is. If you're vegan eat nuts as a source of protein, if you call yourself vegan and are still eating fish then you need to fuck off with that shit.

Way to many people seem concerned with the desires of others... I'm not a vegan, but that looks pretty good lol. Enough with the negativity and one tracked minds.

There are benefits to changing to a vegan diet and when your a** is used to eating meat and your trying to fight cravings I personally think some variety besides quinoa bowls and salads would be appreciated.. why is everyone so triggered? #youdonthavetoeatit #worryaboutyourplate #longhashtags

People typically don't choose not to eat meat because of how it tastes or looks, I don't understand why so many people can't comprehend that. Whether its for ethical reasons or health reasons or both, just because someone chooses to not eat meat doesn't mean they can't get creative with ways to still enjoy many popular dishes that may traditionally have had meat. All these people constantly so concerned with how vegans choose to eat, who cares? Worry about the fucking big mac you inhaled at 2AM last night and how that might affect you. Stop getting triggered because people are putting beans on buns and calling it a burger.

Maybe vegans want to eat something that taste like meat without having the guilt of eating meat. Lots of stupid vegan haters on here. Let live and mind your own business

If you decide to be a vegan/vegetarian/general weirdo, you have by virtue of being that thing you decided to be, given up to right to enjoy barbecue, pork, bacon, steak, or anything else grilled, pulled, savory, or delicious. Eat your tofu cubes and kale roll ups and stop holding the anti-meat torch while simultaneously trying to make your horrible cardboard food taste like deliciously prepared meat stuffs.

If being a vegan is so cool 😎 and meat is so bad why does most vegan meatless food try really hard to taste like mainstream meat favourites? Lol PS: I like all food including vegan food. Before I get hit over the proverbial head with a meatless gluten free breadstick I'm just being funny.

No such thing as a vegan BBQ. The technique requires slow cooking for HOURS. This is just sauce covered plants!

If these people hate meat so much, why do they keep trying to make things that look (?) and taste (?) like MEAT? Eat your Kale and get over it.

Why do so many people care what others do?? So what if vegans want to eat non meat that resembles meat!! There are so many reason to not eat meat and it is ok to still want or crave those foods and make something that is a vegan version of it. Get over yourselves jeesh!

No thanks. While I understand some people's reasons for going vegetarian/vegan are for "ethical" purposes, what I don't understand is why, if you don't eat meat, do you make your soy products taste like meat? I've had the fake meat products and I would much rather eat the real thing.

That sounds incredibly retarded. If you don't eat meat, then don't pretend eating it. It is simply retarded. Your vegan burger will never be a burger. Call it a vegetable sandwich instead - or invent a new word. Don't deprave food with your terrible disease.

Wow I'm a little annoyed. People make fun of vegans for being so rude and obnoxious but all I saw on this thread is meat eaters being rude. Look, I like my beef like no one else but still I can appreciate this food being available.

I'm not vegan but when I see the comments, you guys are all PIECES OF SHIT! Some people decided to have a different way of life, without meat, without dairy, whose productions are polluting and unethical. And you just blame them! But do you think you really deserve a Nobel Prize for eating meat!? Everytime there are a vegan video I see 99% of hateful comments toward vegans. Meanwhile these dishes looks delicious!

The number of people who cannot comprehend vegans/vegetarians enjoying things that resemble meat, I have a question. What do you season your food with? Spices? Well, those come from plants. Seriously. Get over yourselves. Humans have the amazing capability of food creativity, and that means we can make all manner of deliciousness without torturing and mass slaughtering animals. Get with the times.

What I don't understand is that vegans won't eat met due to ethical reasons, yet very likely use products everyday that are made with animal products in them... unless maybe they are very very careful all their clothes, cosmetics, medications, some plastics, etc are vegan.

I love how vegans/ vegetarians are so commonly viewed as judgmental and pushy... yet there is so much more hostility coming from meat eaters against vegans. I am not a vegan (I loosely follow a vegetarian diet sometimes eating chicken and fish) but I do recognize that they (vegans) choose the HEALTHIER diet for themselves, the animals, and the earth. Why waist your time being an ass about how they season and prepare their food!? And then you turn around and scream at them for being judgement. Such hypocrites.
